Hitting

Cone & Tee Drill

Drill helps to train & develop a short path to the ball, fights a drooping barrel, and can help hitters catch up to good fastballs.

BP Reps: Soft Toss

Underhand toss to a hitter from close range. Sit on a bucket directly in front of the hitter, and control ball flight to desired location. 5-6 swings and rotate.

BP Reps: Wiffle Ball

Use Wiffle Balls anywhere on the field, with any tool (tee / soft toss / front toss / live arm), to teach any hitting fundamentals.

BP Reps: Front Toss

Underhand toss to a hitter from close range. Sit on a bucket directly in front of the hitter, and control ball flight to desired location. 5-6 swings and rotate.

3 Step Hitting

Hitting drill focused on simple and clean footwork. Mark feet with three cones – 1) back foot; 2) front foot; and, 3) front-foot-stride. Stride & load (freeze), swing hard, hold finish (freeze). Then go no-stopping and use cones to control feet.

Virtual Reality

Imagine a world of training when our kids are old. This might be the biggest game-changer I learned of at the ABCA.

THE OFFENSE-ONLY PRACTICE

Every now and then you just gotta hit. Whether it’s a 4-practice “mix up” or a 10-practice full-fledged-fun itinerary, consider the Offense-Only practice plan.
